MONUMENTS (2026)
An experimental short documentary, reflecting on England's diversity and history.
Filmmaker Jon King spent three years capturing images of hundreds of postboxes, all around the country.
These postboxes represent an outdated and inefficient system of communication—but they are also part of our national identity and history. The red postbox is a symbol of Britishness, now tinged with obsolescence.
But the film isn’t just about postboxes. It’s about the people, places, stories, and diversity that surround them. As a montage of surprising and delighting match-cuts, this film is a celebration and reflection on the UK's national identity.
